Improving energy efficiency and thermal comfort is the purpose of the project ‘REENFOCO: Development of adapted solutions to respond to energy demand in the workplace in a sustainable and collaborative way’.
It is an initiative promoted by the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV) and the Technological Institute of Energy (ITE), which has the support of the Valencia City Council, reported the Councilor for Climate Emergency and Energy Transition, Alejandro Ramon.
The project has been presented to the IVACE call for grants in technology centers of the Valencian Community for the development of non-economic R&D projects carried out in cooperation with companies, charged to the budget for the year 2020, with co-financing from the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, within the Operational Program of the Valencian Community 2014-2020.
The project lasts 18 months and also has the support of the València Clima i Energia Foundation –from a technical aspect, having knowledge and experience, and, like the Climate Emergency and Energy Transition Delegation, offering its dependencies for testing.
The objective is to facilitate the management of energy consumed in work environments, such as those in the service sector and industry, including companies and their staff in energy management decisions so that consumption is sustainable and responsible.
Thus, workers are involved, influenced by the levels of comfort in their workplace, and companies, with increasing attention to the energy efficiency of their facilities and the reduction of environmental impact.
