JBL Tour Pro + TWS: headphones that you definitely won’t forget!
Appearance and convenience
JBL Tour Pro + TWS does not belong to slight headphones. Whatever they are, that case seems very powerful at first glance. But it does not spoil matte black plastic on the outside, the same on the headphones, nice fonts with names. And nothing strange, for which a special thanks.
The arrangement of the case is as standard as possible. The headphones are magnetized on the inside and charged through the foam, and the issue is fixed in two positions, in the same way, thanks to the magnets—the device charges via USB-C or wirelessly.
The earbuds resemble round washers and are held inside the ear with silicone ear cushions and additional ribbing. Even if it does not fit the size of the ear cushions, you can also adjust the size with the help of ribs or fins, whatever is convenient. In a set of 5 pairs of replaceable nozzles and two pairs of fins, it will pick up accurately under the size.
They are perfect for everyday use. Even now, when the ground is almost always a hat, they sit correctly. In addition, they can constantly be reinforced by wearing the fins a little more than necessary. Then the headphones will be felt continuously inside the ear, but at the same time, you will feel the reliability of the fit. And this is an excellent addition for those who take off their TWS headphones during sports or just an active hobby.
As for the case, its size implies carrying it in a backpack or bag. You cannot put this in your jeans or your pants pocket. And this must be taken into account during daily use.
specs
In terms of features, the JBL Tour Pro + TWS has adaptive noise cancellation and three excellent microphones on the left and right earbuds. Which makes the noise reduction more correct, the conversations comfortable, and the amplification mode of the surrounding sounds clearer.
As for the battery, with adaptive noise cancellation, the headphones work up to 6 hours in music mode; without it, up to 8 hours. Together with the case, you have 32 hours to listen to music. Please put them in the case for 10 minutes and get an hour of work.
They connect to any smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0. At the same time, Android and iOS have a free JBL companion app. You can adjust the pressure on the headphones and their functions, voice assistant, and even slightly modify the sound settings.
In addition, the JBL Tour Pro + TWS has protection against humidity according to the IPX5 standard. Therefore, they are not afraid of sweat and drizzle. Another bow to the athletes and the people who live in St. Petersburg.
Each earbud has a touch button. By the way, this look is done to perfection because the headphones’ size is large, so you can’t go wrong. Yes, and pressing works perfectly: the case when I never pressed a button by accident during the whole process of use. And this is an achievement.
Sound
Before talking about it, we need to say a few words, not about the sound of music but about the spatial environment that the headphones pass through the microphones. The fact is that such sound quality is scarce for this class of devices. After all, when you press the headset to hear what is happening on the street or have a dialogue with someone without taking it off, it feels like there are no headphones. The sound is immaculate and precise. The microphones pick up many frequencies well, except, apparently, high-spectrum peaks.
On its own, the sound that will likely come from Spotify and similar apps is sincere. I liked that the headphones don’t flirt with bass fans and don’t present themselves as something they are not. The soundtrack of any track looks very smooth and calm, no matter where the music track is released – in high-frequency electronic washes or straight barrels, everything is played in balance. And no, no other frequency is interrupted. But it should be noted that the sound is quite similar and is concentrated in the low and mid-frequency range. This creates the feeling of an intimate scene.
But everything related to this, you can try to adjust yourself. For example, if you leave the mid frequencies on the equalizer, the space in the scene increases. In the JBL Headphones app, you can touch the settings, but they are very few: your settings, jazz, vocals, and bass. If you have JBL headphones and this program, the jazz gives the instruments some freedom, and the bass helps when listening to poorly composed podcasts.
The additional ‘density’ in the sound adds active noise, which slightly increases the “volume” of the sound. It creates pressure through the general sound background “outside” of the headphones, which must be taken into account. At the same time, the suppression works surprisingly well. I’d even say this is one of the best noise cancellers I’ve heard on TWS headphones. If you have headphones with this feature, I suggest you compare them with these. The experiment is straightforward: go to the bathroom and turn on the tap in the sink. In JBL Tour Pro + TWS, you will no longer hear the water at the average track volume with Spotify. There are also many sounds on the street; for example, most cars become entirely silent. You only hear those with high frequencies.
